Life back in the living area

-

The living area is called such due to its function as one of the most vibrant sections of the house. It is a place where members of the family converge, to spend quality time together or gather visitors for social interaction. A home’s living area should thus reflect a relaxed and cozy feel for its occupants — so ostentatious furniture, or gloomy impressions, are not the place for it.

Ergo, the design should be warm enough to put “life” back into the living area.

Such as design intent is the foremost objective of the model unit of Mahogany Place III, found at the Township Central Information Center in Taguig City – a stone’s throw away from the actual project site of this upscale development by DMCI Homes. The model unit highlights portions of Bela and Tamara, two unit types for Mahogany Place III, to give buyers an idea about the lifestyle that’s set to emerge from this Asian-themed residential enclave.

Living space

Wilmer Lopez, Interior Design Director of WLopez Designs, was tapped to create an “Asian Luxe” concept for the different sections of the model unit. For the living area, his basis for the design was for a family lifestyle that loves comfort, luxury, and simplicity.

Lopez achieved the perfect blend of such requirements through a fusion of contemporary Filipino and Cambodian designs. Upon entering the unit, guests will find a striking setup that is both impressive and homey.

A caterpillar table is placed in the center of the room – a fascinating local furniture whose dynamic orientation captures a living area’s whole essence. The table can be repositioned according to the homeowner’s liking, depending on function or desired change of themes.

Framing the table are two seating areas – a sofa upholstered in woven fabric and another set covered in cowhide leather – spacious lounges where anyone can sit with relaxation and entertainment in mind. Over at the sofa setup looms a Buddha lamp and a Cambodian cabinet – accents that hint a touch of luxury, while serving as conversation pieces.
