Waldorf education puts learning into everyday life

Parents want schools to employ the best teachers and offer the finest curriculum and facilities, but what about the school itself? Does the building welcome their children? Is the location conducive to an effective learning experience?

The physical space students occupy contribute greatly to their emotional and educational experience. That is why students at the Timberland Rudolf Steiner School (or TRSS, which follows the Waldorf Educational system) are set to spend their days in a sprawling educational enclave that makes the most out of Timberland Height’s nurturing embrace. TRSS will be run and operated by the Manila Waldorf School, Inc. (MWSI), the only Steiner school in Southeast Asia offering a full Kindergarten to Grade 12 program, which is the pioneer school of Steiner education in the Philippines.

The need for schools with an adaptive curriculum is ideal for parents and guardians who want to ensure that their children’s education will be founded on everyday applications. Created by the Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner, the impulse behind Waldorf education is cultural renewal—fostered through a new understanding of the individual and community that puts as much emphasis on the mental and artistic development of students.

As future generations prepare to drive the nation forward with education as their backbone, the Waldorf curriculum reinforces it with learning and experience based on a system of education that is in line with Timberland Heights’ focus on community building and natural recreation, where the school will be located.

Using everyday experiences combined with the freedom of an intuitive teacher to adapt the lessons to situations, students learn not just through books, but through actual confrontations with them.
