Landco invests P10-B in Escudero estate project

High-end property developer Landco Pacific Corp. has invested P10 billion for the development of Hacienda Escudero, a residential-resort and leisure tourism town built around the landmark tourist destination, Villa Escudero.

Landco Pacific earlier signed a memorandum of agreement with Villa Escudero president and founder Conrado Escudero for the development of the huge estate.

"Landco will be the developer of the Hacienda Escudero and the Escuderos will remain as its landowners," explained Landco Pacific president Alfred Xerez-Burgos.

Hacienda Escudero lies within the Escudero’s 415-hectare coconut plantation that spans the municipalities of San Pedro, Laguna and Tiaong and Dolores, Quezon.

It is a two-hour drive away from Manila and is also accessible through Rizal via Antipolo.

"What makes it different from other developments?" said Burgos. "It will have attractions and amenities that give property developers and visitors a taste of Philippine history and culture, very much like that promoted by Villa Escudero."

Several features are currently being fleshed out to realize this vision. Houses and commercial establishments inside the development, for one, are being done in distinct local architecture.

"They will also have easier access to Villa Escudero, which will remain untouched during the development," said Burgos.
