A home with a view

Built on one of the highest points of Ayala Greenfield Estates, the Gamut home captures different facets of Laguna magic from each of its rooms.
From the view deck of the Gamut residence at Ayala Greenfield, the bustle of Makati life seems a lifetime instead of just an hour away.
Erlie and Rudy Gamut initially purchased the 452 sqm lot with the intention of building a vacation home to live in three months every year while on break from their main home in Fairfield, California. But the couple fell so deeply in love with their Ayala Greenfield home that they decided to make it their primary dwelling. "After staying here for a few weeks, we decided to stay for most of the year. This house reminds us of our home in Fairfield," says Erlie.
The Fairfield home they lived in for many years was located near three golf courses, so the 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II inside Ayala Greenfield is a great source of enjoyment for the Gamut couple. Erlie wakes up at five-thirty in the morning three times a week for a quick round with Ayala Greenfield’s community golf team. After the game, she and her friends visit the exercise room or chat over food and drinks at the country club restaurant.
Most of the time, Erlie has little reason to leave her hilltop community, which is cooled year-round by breezes coming from Laguna de Bay. The Gamuts hardly turn on their air conditioners, she says. This is quite a change from life at the Roxas Boulevard condo they used to own, where the oppressive heat of the city left them with little choice but to keep the air conditioners running nearly twenty-four hours a day. Having grown up in Cavite, Erlie cites Ayala Greenfield’s promixity to Metro Manila as a key factor in her decision to live there.
