Exotic Bali at Raya
March 2, 2007 | 12:00am
Bali is an island in Indonesia and the country’s largest tourism destination. Known for its long sandy beaches set against the backdrop of its rich, exotic culture, tourists who find themselves in Bali realize just how peaceful life could be. And this is the simple reason why tourists who have had a taste of Bali keep coming back for more.
So imagine if you could live in Bali all-year round, when, at the end of a long and busy day you can put up your feet, enjoy the cool breeze, savor in the peace and quiet, and let your thoughts wander as you gaze at a lotus pond.
This dream is already a reality for some fortunate enough to have secured a home in Raya Garden Condominiums, DMCI Homes’ enchanting development in Parañaque City.
Raya, the name of the community, literally means great in Bahasa, hence, a great garden. It is a community inspired largely by Balinese living and is meant to be an urban sanctuary for its residents.
Engr. Elmer Civil, DMCI Homes Vice President and Director for Design and Construction say they chose Bali as an inspiration because it is unique. "We’re one of the few developers that opted to use Bali as an inspiration because it’s quite expensive  even the furniture, the design is quite expensive."
DMCI Homes knows that it is important to consider the tropical climate in the Philippines when it came to designing the buildings and the layout of the community. This is why they chose Bali as an inspiration since the design elements of Balinese architecture consider the tropical weather in Indonesia which is not much different from Philippine weather. Balinese architecture features open pavilions enclosed in large walled yards, letting in the air and sunshine and creating an atmosphere that is breezy but not too bright, open but also private. And this is what you can see in Raya Garden Condominiums.
Engr. Civil says they wanted to give residents a totally different experience in Raya Garden despite having the 1.9 hectare property in Merville sit just outside the South Luzon Expressway.
The large wooden gates act as a portal into a completely different world where you can leave the hustle and bustle of city life outside and settle into a thoroughly relaxing environment inside. Raya Garden is literally an oasis of calm amid the frenzied metropolis.
A stone’s throw away from the Central Business District of Makati and major thoroughfares like EDSA and C-5, Raya Garden Project Architect Ramil Presa says, "It’s very accessible, very in-city, very convenient."
Raya Garden offers unique features and amenities synonymous to DMCI Homes’ extensive experience in construction and development.
