SM Supercenter Pasig opens

Great shopping goes closer to home after SM Supercenter Pasig, the 26th SM Supermall, opened its doors to the public last Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006.

Located on a two-hectare property in Fontera Verde along Eulogio Rodriguez Avenue, Jr. in Pasig City, the 29,017 square meter mall will serve residents in the neighboring upscale residential and subdivisions. It will also serve customers who regularly pass through the C5 route to and from Quezon City, Cainta, Antipolo, Pateros, Taguig and Marikina City.

Envisioned as a one stop shop for household and day to day needs, as well as a great place for gathering with family and friends, SM Supercenter Pasig’s design complements the themed Tiendesitas area where it is located.

Nature is key as a design element, bringing forward the fresh, organic concept in the rest of the Tiendesitas area. Color plays a great part, with green playing a dominant role and shades of muted pastels in the mall’s façade.

The mall’s centerpiece is the atrium with a circular natural skylight encircled by colors associated with nature — the blue sky and green forests. Leaf patterns may be found in the mall’s floors, while the eyecatching geometric shapes highlight the ceiling.

Great shopping at SM Supercenter Pasig begins at the SM Hypermarket, the mall’s main anchor. A hypermarket is a European concept that combines supermarket, general, merchandise, and discounts retailers, a concept that has become popular in the Philippines for the past few years.

SM mainstays like ACE Hardware and Watsons will also be opening at the new mall, as well as shops like Books for Less, Century Chinese Drugstore, and Astroplus.

Taste Asia, the concept first popularized in the SM Hypermarket in the Mall of Asia, will also open at the mall. Here one can experience the rich flavors of Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, and other Asian cuisines dampa style. Other eating out options include Country Waffles, Coffee Nook, and Go Nuts Donuts. Neighborhood services in the mall include News Barbers, Tooth Spa Dental Clinic, Photoline, a Globe center, and a Banco de Oro branch.
