A golfer’s haven at the New Splendido clubhouse

Over the years, Tagaytay is synonymous to the scenic view of the world-famous Taal Volcano, horseback riding, and its cool climate all year round. With the upsurge of the real estate development, progress was spelled in various business establishments ranging from hotels and inns, specialty restaurants, private sanctuaries and retreat houses, outdoors hobbies and sports like the popular ‘golf’.

Adding to the growing list of ‘must-see’ places, The Splendido Taal Golf Club Corp. beams with pride as it unveil the Splendido Taal Golf Clubhouse in Tagaytay.

The Splendido Taal Golf Club spreads across a 152-hectare valley nestled amidst the mountain ridges of Grand Taal. With a panoramic view of the volcano within a lake, as well as glimpses of Balayan Bay at a distance.

The centerpiece of the golf club is the new Splendido Taal Golf Clubhouse located atop a small hill with a commanding view of Taal Volcano and the golf course. It was designed by leading architectural firm RR Payumo and Partners with a Spanish-Mediterranean theme, with the interior design undertaken by Steven Leach and Associates.

The thematic design of the clubhouse is followed through in the Ladera Golfer’s Lounge with its machuka tiles and wrought iron chandeliers hanging on wood-beamed ceilings. The hillside lounge also opens to a veranda with a postcard-perfect view of Taal Volcano.

Located in a scenic corner of the clubhouse is the La Esquina Spanish Restaurant literally meaning ‘your corner’. It is the room with a view to a kill — the majestic expanse of the ninth green as it stretches to the distance. With its floor-to-ceiling glass panels providing an unparalleled view of the golf course, guests will experience dining excellence from carefully selected culinary masterpieces whipped up by consultant chefs Ed Quimson and Heny Sison.

The Splendido Taal Golf Clubhouse also includes world-class amenities and facilities for the club members like locker rooms, shower, Jacuzzi, sauna and massage. A pro shop managed by Golf King is also open for the golfer’s various needs.

The golf course at Splendido Taal is an 18-hole, par 72 championship course reputed to be one of the most challenging in the country. It’s signature hole is the par 3 Hole Number 8, a visually intimidating 213-yard drive over a steep ravine that provides a mental challenge to the golfer. The golf course at Splendido was designed by Greg Norman Golf Course Design.

The Splendido Taal Golf Clubhouse will soon be complemented with the construction of the Splendido Taal Town Center and the Splendido Taal Country Club.
