Soaring high with SKY LOFTS
December 23, 2005 | 12:00am
Imagine life in a place that sits high in the sky, surrounded by full glass windows on three sides giving you a wonderful view of the city. And with two floors of space to breathe space that you transformed yourself, with the help of one of the Philippines top designers, into your own personal work of art. The tallest tower in the block, The Metropolitan features 105 Sky Loft units, having two or three bedrooms each, and ranging in size from 100 to 200 square meters. Twenty-eight of the units have three-side corners, with full-view glass windows on all three sides giving you a sense of being surrounded by the sky.
The units are delivered bare, ready to be transformed by you into your very own dream space. The Metropolitan has even enlisted the services of designer par excellance Ed Calma to help you turn your vision into reality.
Calma opens our eyes to the world of design possibilities offered by a bare Sky Loft unit as he expounds: "The over-riding thread in the bare design is the severity of lines, the starkness of the walls giving the illusion of bigger space. And this space is hovering above everything else, giving an incredible feeling of being on top!" The splendid view from this vantage point ties both the interior and exterior into one expansive natural space. In the designers words, "you got openness, the experience of nature and everything else, all in one area."
This is just the beginning of course, as Calma encourages you to transform you Sky Loft. His advice is to execute whats in your imagination. If this is done, then the outcome is always original. The Metropolitan further enhances this transformation by keeping the rules loose, allowing you to use whatever materials and design you want. The possibilities are truly endless!
