CREBA-La Salle program opens

Whatever they do in the real estate industry – as property developers, builders, planners, professionals, even taxpayers, buyers and owners – there’s a lot to learn for participants in this special diploma program in real estate management.

The Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Associations (CREBA) and the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde School of Professional and Continuing Education announced the second module of the post-baccalaureate diploma program in real estate management. It will be held every Saturday from Nov. 12 to Dec. 17 on the 9th floor of the CSB International Conference Center on Estrada St. corner Arellano St., Malate, Manila.

The module covers real estate laws and regulations. Speakers are:

Atty. Amado B. Deloria, former HLURB commissioner for adjudication, and the module coordinator, doctrines in land ownership , land titles, patents and deeds; Prof. Roque "Popoy" Arrieta-Magno, former HLURB commissioner and professorial lecturer at the UP School of Urban and Regional Planning, and the overall program director, Local Government Code: land use planning and zoning, and approval of land development plans.

Atty. Dunstan San Vicente, head, HLURB legal and adjudication division, registration, licensing, monitoring and clearances; Atty. Bernardo Marino Torres, HLURB V attorney, homeowners associations and intra-corporate disputes; Atty. Arturo M. Dublado, head, HLURB appeals review group, HLURB adjudication process; Atty. Melchor Magdamo, consultant for legal affairs, Department of Land Reform, Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law.

Atty. Ma. Luisa Pangan, HLURB arbiter and monitoring unit head for NCR, urban land reform; Atty. Victorino C. Mamalateo, former BIR commissioner and senior partner, Punongbayan & Araullo Accounting & Law Office, taxation on real estate transactions; and Deloria, leasing and tenant relations and real estate forms and contracts.

The module’s overall goal is to provide participants with the most important know-how in property documentation, taxation, owner-buyer relations and similar aspects of property, all geared to positive solutions to disputes and protection of rights.

Other modules in succeeding months will be on real estate and environmental planning, appraisal and property management, real estate planning and development, and real estate financing and investments. Participants earn accredited units under the continuing education program for licensed real estate brokers, appraisers, consultants and other professionals. Successful completion of six modules entitles a participant to a diploma in real estate management jointly given by the DLS-CSB and CREBA. Completion of each certificate course entitles the participant to a certificate of achievement.
