Meaningful weekends

The weekend has never been more inviting with the sweet scent of pine trees wafting through the wide open windows of a Swiss chalet at CrossWinds. Brittany Corp. redefines weekend leisure with this over 100-hectare development comfortably nestled on the lush landscape of Tagaytay.
Named after the merging of wind current blowing from various directions, CrossWinds is located on the left side of the highway just beyond Picnic Grove and the road from the South Luzon Expressway exit via Sta. Rosa.
"Weekend leisure isnt just about not having to go to the office. It isnt just about not having to work. Its about coming home to a sanctuary, being with the family for a Sunday brunch, and having your quiet corner to read a book or listen to music. Brittany Corp. understands these needs and CrossWinds was tailor-made to ensure that these needs are not just met. We make sure we take that extra mile for our clients. Because for us, leisure is serious business," says Brittany Corp. president Jing Serrano.
This sanctuary south of Manila looks to Switzerland for inspiration with regards to its architecture. Elements such as overhanging eaves, wood patterns, wide balconies all set against a lush green landscape provide a haven where one can truly feel at home away from home.
Various design details were employed to ensure an inviting and comfortable atmosphere including a steeply-pitched, gable roof with varying roof lines. The dark-stained wood trims provide contrast to the stucco walls in varying colors to brighten the rooms. French windows with planter boxes ensure that the house is flooded with sunshine and fresh air. The ceramic tiles and natural stone on the porch and balcony with stained wood finish and hand-carved patterns on the railing complete the look.
With a total floor area of 166 sq. m., a unit at the Quadrilles is a three-bedroom masterpiece featuring a masters bedroom with walk-in closet and toilet with bath, two smaller bedrooms, attic space, porch and balcony, maids room with toilet and bath, utility area, a parking slot, and an open parking area.
For those who wish to create a home in accordance with their personal style, custom houses are also accommodated in the property. Individual lots are available ranging from 450 sq. m to 1,000 sq. m.
The Grand Quartier, on the other hand, explores the concept of large living spaces on a low-rise development. While it adheres to the Swiss theme, the Grand Quartier offers this on a more intimate scale with only 30 units of one and two bedrooms. The floor area ranges from 74 sqm to 109 sqm. A rounding driveway is in front of each Grand Quartier. At the center is a common lobby where elevators can take the homeowners to a world all their own. Units are priced between P3.5 and P5.5 million.
Amenities at the CrossWinds also includes high speed internet connection, underground cabling for power, communications, and CATV, peak gardens, swimming pool, gazebos, nature trails, and shaded walkways.
There is, however, another perk that residents of CrossWinds can enjoy. Upon approaching the property, one can immediately tell that something is literally up in the air. The aromatic scent of pine is a gentle reminder for residents to leave their worries behind and enter a safe haven where they can rejuvenate for the weekend.
Two years ago, Brittany Corp. began to propagate pine seeds and successfully produced more than 8,000 seedlings, and the count is continuously growing. Today, 50 percent have been planted within the property while the remaining half is in a nearby nursery awaiting transfer.
"Environmental conservation is a serious concern," Serrano asserted. "In every development we undertake, the preservation of the integrity of the land is always an important consideration."
Respect for the environment, she added, is always at the heart of every project. It is the land that provides for the future. And in nurturing it comes the improvement of the quality of life which is among the core values of Brittany Corp.
