Seminar on home buying, financing

In buying and financing their dream homes, first time home buyers need guidance to avoid frauds and mistakes along the way. To provide the essential knowledge and to avoid sad experiences, the Urban Institute of Real Estate will conduct a seminar entitled, "Buying and Financing Your First Home", on July 15, 1:30 to 6 p.m. at Maxs Restaurant, Glorieta 2, Park Square Drive, Ayala Center, Makati City.
The seminar covers all the important issues that face first time homebuyers determining how much one can afford, determining the right type of home; criteria on where to live; choosing the right neighborhood; essential information on property taxes; tips on looking for bargain alternatives; services provided by real estate professionals; home inspection approaches; negotiating price and terms; learning the terms of the contract of sales as well as other expenses that one should be aware of; tips on securing a mortgage; types of mortgages available and things to watch out for; determining down-payments; how to avail of government subsidized mortgages; sellers financing: beware of the fine prints; the services offered by loan brokers; undertstanding lease with option to buy; defaults and foreclosure; rights of buyers under Maceda Law, PD 957 and other related HLURB rules.
Urban will also conduct other seminars as follows: July 12 How to Start & Manage a Successful Real Estate Brokerage Office; July 13 How to Profitably Buy & Sell Real Estate; July 14 How to Make Big Money in Distressed Property; and July 17 Installment Sales: What you Need to Know.
