Farming, tranquil living in one

La Finca and Country Resort is a unique, rising high-end community that prides itself as a development that has conceptualized and realized urban living in a suburban setting. The 18-hectare, ultra exclusive farm resort situated in Lipa, Batangas has "weekend gateway" written all over its 127 lots, offering owners valuable tranquility and a chance to have their lots cultivated for farming purposes.
Sales and marketing director Lisette Baltazar enthuses that this element makes La Finca a one-of-a-kind undertaking: "Part of the residential aspect of the property would be the farm management. With the present economic times, if our lot buyers so choose not to put up their country homes yet, they have the option to devote their whole lot into farming. We do the initial planting, tend to their lot and even sell their produce to the market for an extra income from their end. Works for all of us as it sustains our farmers from the Profit-Sharing Scheme, making our farm self-sustaining. This is something unique with our project."
According to Baltazar, they need not pay extra for such services, unlike other developer who ask for prices ranging from 900,000 to P1 million just to prepare a lot for farming. One still has to pay separately for farm management. She shares that La Fincas farm management is inclusive with every lot purchased.
"Once we sell the lot to the buyer, we ask them their choice of vegetables. Some of them are restaurant owners. The produce will be for them also. We present them with a feasibility study, at no cost to them. We bear the cost of initial planting. We want the farm here to be self-sustaining. Their payment to us will be in the profit-sharing," she explains.
This profit-sharing scheme lets lot owners earn monthly income, as La Finca has several tie-ups with hotels and weekend markets in upscale subdivisions. This farming aspect has been one of the many attractions that discerning buyers have cited. One such buyer is particularly happy of this and the sites impressive amenities.
Last March 27, he and his invited guests glimpsed and sampled La Fincas nearly completed Country Club facilities, as well as harvested crops from his vegetable gardens.
