Joya model unit unveiled

When Rockwell Land commissioned architect Guillermo "Butch" Valdez to conceptualize the interior design of Joyas two-bedroom model unit and common areas, he figured it was a cinch. He was acquainted with Rockwells inclination towards the classic and traditional genre of interior design, as a design consultant for Rockwells Manansala Residential Towers in the past.
What he didnt know was that Joya at Rockwell is envisioned as more contemporary, chic, and vibrant, setting it apart from other residential towers.
Although his experience with prestigious projects such as St. Regis Hotel in Century City, California, Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok, Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago and Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills says much about his success, the modern concept of Joya proved to be an exciting challenge for him.
Equipped with all he ever needed to create another masterpiece, Arch. Valdez set to work. And work he did.
Making use of almost every trick in his trade book, Arch. Valdez transformed a bare unit into a handsomely tailored living space. Located at Rockwells Information Center, the 115sqm. two-bedroom model unit is a testament to his versatility, talent, and genius.
Starting with careful selection of color, he used unified color combinations on the walls and furnishings to give the place an illusion of mass (as seen in photo). The strategic positioning of halogen lamps added dimension to the tower apartment. A floor-to-ceiling mirror inconspicuously set upon the wall of the living room further enhanced the rooms illusion of size. Interestingly, a massive lamp hanging over a hardwood dining table made the room seem equally large.
