A mountain comes alive

Workers from surrounding communities are abuzz with activity in the 677-hectare paradise where Filinvest is planting life for future residents.

The natural assets of the area are being rehabilitated with the planting of more than a million trees by the time the mountain residential resort is completed. This, too, is a major part of the company’s Green Evolution campaign.

Named Timberland Heights, it is a tribute to the magnificence of Mother Nature. Filinvest Land’s commitment to its rehabilitation is manifested in the development concept planned. This is the future home of verdant farming and wholesome recreation with a nature theme.

The Mandala Residential Farm Estate, which has already obtained an ECC clearance, will advocate organic farming on what is classified as slope farming. This process protects and reinforces the stability and propagation of living soil. Herb patches of Italian oregano, purple and sweet Vietnamese basil, marjoram, rosemary, thyme and tarragon, will provide an aromatic ambience which is conducive to healing. Vegetables, ranging from tomato varieties, green pepper, cauliflower, arugula and romaine lettuce can be bought from central farm plots. Eventually, residents of Mandala Estates can also have their produce put into the market through Timberland Height’s estate services center.

They say living close to nature is the secret of health and long life. Throw in the mountain air, free of city pollution and one buys into the best living environment one can find. The trek towards more relaxed lifestyles is more than ever becoming the course to follow in this century when stress has become the world’s biggest threat to quality of life.

As early as now, Filinvest Land’s development team has initiated its community immerson program, engaging the community in jobs and livelihood prospects. The priority is to source 80 percent of the total workforce from the communities around the development, a welcome initiative lauded by the municipal government and concerned NGOs. Several seminars and project orientations have been conducted with the Mayor, NGO and community representatives.
