In the heart of Makati, the center of convergence for people from Quezon City, Manila, and the South area, lies the hottest furniture paradise for people who want the best in home furnishing and decorating.
The Federal Design Expo, a sister store of Federal Hardware, aims to be the most complete home furnishing store in the country. It is the largest furniture showroom located within a brightly-lit, fully air-conditioned 12,000 square-meter warehouse. The warehouse was converted into a "canvass" for over 50 furniture showcases all created by professional interior designers Ivy and Cynthia Almario.
The Atelier-Almario furniture line of Cynthia and Ivy Almario is prominent in the store, as the Almario sisters designed furniture pieces especially to go along with the various pieces that they brought in from abroad. They designed the showcases chairs, coffee tables, side tables, and even lamps and lighting.
The furniture sets feature exclusive high-quality furniture, arranged in different styles so that customers can select according to their preferences. There are imported European-style fabric and leatherette sofas, wenge or walnut-colored furniture pieces, which include TV stands, wardrobes, bookcases, dining tables, bedroom sets, and dressers. There are also modern style furniture pieces: glass and wardrobes and shelves, lounge chairs, accent chairs, and bar stools and tables. The imported furniture pieces were inspired by the latest international designs and technology making each item as good as the original imported ones, but with price tags that are relatively more affordable.
Federal Design Expo also carries one of the most famous European brands: Muebles Italiano. The line of Italian and Spanish furniture includes exquisite leather sofas and dining sets.
The Federal Design Expo is located at 2248 Don Chino Roces Ave., Makati City. For inquiries you can call (02) 893-1663. The Federal Design Expo is open everyday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
For the bedroom, plenty of accessories are available. The Majestic brand includes comforters, beddings, and pillows, while the Canadian brand features bed sheets and pillow cases. The sets also showcase Ambassador Beds, the premier brand of Philippine Bed Manufacturing Corp., and the choice of five-star hotels in Metro Manila.
For outdoor decoration, the Berde brand is available in the store. The Berde line includes artificial plants, fountains, and sculptures which are perfect for livening up any yard or garden. The sculptures were bronzed using German technology.
The art section features paintings from Pietro Gallery. The gallery sells original artworks from local artists and reprints of paintings of famous foreign artists. There are also a wide variety of authentic Chinese pots and vases created by Ming Ching, home of the finest porcelain. The color glazed porcelain pieces are made in China using the same methods and techniques of the original classic Chinese designs. This results in rare and unique pieces that are difficult to find elsewhere.
The accents section includes a wide variety of products for your every decorating need. Among these are rich, plush Tai Ping carpets made by Philippine Carpets, synthetic flowers created by Cynthia Almario, and colorful scented candles from Bright Ideas. There are also Indonesian potteries, terracotta, and jars.
The Federal Design Expo has the luxury of space. Everything you need is under one roof, parking is free, and the store is fully air-conditioned. These are things you wont find in any mall-based store.
