Philcemcor changes name to CeMAP

Philippine Cement Manufacturers Corp. (Philcemcor), the industry association of the countrys local cement manufacturers has announced that it has changed its official name to Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines or CeMAP.
The change in name, according to CeMAP officers, is intended to synchronize the envolving face of the industry with an image that now reflects the many various achievements and directions of its individual member companies in terms of product quality and innovation, social development, and environmental protection.
"Weve entered an exciting new phase in the development of the local cement industry," said Mr. Felix Alfiler, president of CeMAP. "Through trials and difficulties, the whole of this organization is now greater than the sum of its parts. Our updated identity, I believe, will highlight our progress and on-going transformation."
Changing the name from Philcemcor to CeMAP depicts that transformation which appropriately reflects members vision of creating a meaningful impact as a true partner in nation-building and economic development.
"The change also renews our commitment to serve our public, develop our industry further, and play a significant role in nation building," added Alfiler.
CeMAP is composed of the following local cement manufacturers: Alsons Cement; APO Cement; Continental Operating Corp.; Fortune Cement; FR Cement; Grand Cement; Iligan Cement; Lloyds Richfield Industrial Corp.; Mindanao Portland Cement; Northern Cement; Pacific Cement; Republic Cement; Solid Cement; and Union Cement.
CeMAPs logo features a three-dimensional block symbolizing the solid foundation of the organization and an arc of the horizon, symbolizing a proactive image and the expanded vision of the CeMAP as an organization.
