Leisure Farms to unveil new phase

Leisure Farms, the Philippines’ first hobby farming and agro-tourism development, will hold "Farm Fresh Delights", an on-site event today to offer the newest phase in the project’s growing community.

There will be farm-fresh activities like horseback riding and pick n’ pay – a fruit and vegetable market giving visitors a taste of the Leisure Farms experience. The event will also feature live music and delicacies such as Bukidnon’s Kablon Farms’ best selling Sweetened Passion Fruit Concentrates and My Goodness’ Old-Style Oatmeal Cookies and MS Figies at the Gourmet corner, a preview of what to expect from the Village Store. Designed to reflect the agro-tourism capability of Leisure Farms, the Village Store will be a shopping venue for the project’s high-quality produce, farm seeds and supplies, and unique Filipino products not ordinarily seen in Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, the project is also set to commence the creation of its Laboratory Farms as a test venue for its farm management services. Utilizing 10 farmlots within the site, these laboratory farms will "iron out all the technicalities and perfect our farm management systems, ensuring smooth operations when lot owners get started with their farms," says Alfred Xerez-Burgos III, group head of Leisure Farms. These laboratory farms will also "serve to test our main facilities, which are already in place," he adds.

The project’s water distribution lines, deep well, water reservoir, and electrical lines in the farmlot zones have been operational since April. The farm’s main bridge, perimeter fence, and main concrete spine road are also in place. Encouraged by these, some lot buyers have already begun building their farms. The Demo Farms, another component of the Farm Management Services, is a set of model farms from which farmers, guests, students and agriculture enthusiasts can sample new technology and gather ideas. Also in the Demo Farms is the Agro-Tourism center.
