Nusa Dua in Cavite: Farm-ready

Filinvest Land’s first modern residential farm estate at Tanza, Cavite is now ready for action.Its first buyers were invited to the inauguration of the estate’s newly completed facilities and officially start farming on their respective lots.

"Essential to farming is water source," says Sam Juan, Nusa Dua’s farm estates manager. The hands-on farm expert who has been on farming assignments overseas, assures the weekend farmers that, with the shallow wells now operable, irrigation required for growing crops is now available. "Without water, there can be no farming," says Juan. Cavite’s water basin is a rich natural source of water. And the soil at Nusa Dua is an ideal blend of clay and loam – a good planting soil for vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants.

Inaugurated at the sprawling landscaped Balinese setting were the children’s park, the model unit and the first buyers’ lot.

Filinvest Land introduced the residential farm concept as the fulfillment of the dream of weekend farmer Andrew Gotianun Jr. (Bibot has his own natural farm sanctuary in Antipolo.)

Nusa Dua has a striking Balinese theme which gives it an inspiring appeal. Lots vary from 750 sqms to 2,000 sqms. As an alternative lifestyle, Nusa Dua encourages its buyers to take advantage of the expertise of Juan, the Farm Estates manager who will be charge of assisting farm lot owners in setting up and managing their farm. "We can give them ideas about which crops to propagate. If they wish to engage in aquaculture (breeding the popular and prolific tilapia, bangus and even tropical fish), we can facilitate set ups for them," says Juan.

Setting up a farm entails land preparation, activation of the 120 feet shallow well provided by Filinvest for each farm lot buyer and seminars to train farm hands on planting, maintaining and harvesting.
