Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation (FBDC) announced it recently signed a lease agreement with Le Masora Manila, a commercial retail operator and developer, for the construction of more than 7,000 square meter gross floor area in the expansion of the Fort Square retail and entertainment center.
Called the Fort Strip, the expansion project includes a two-story complex of restaurants, retail and commercial establishments in an open-air, plaza setting. The complex will be integrated into the current Fort Square commercial center through themed walkways, and will present an architecturally European exterior: extensive use of verandas, bay windows, wooden shutters and other treatments.
"With our agreement with Le Masora Manila, we are fast on our way to returning the Fort Square in the Bonifacio Global City back into the premiere entertainment center in Metro Manila," said Vicente C. Tinsay III, senior vice president for commercial operations of FBDC.
"Within a matter of months, a diversified tenant mix of many new high-end and middle-range commercial establishments will open, offering a range of new options for entertainment seekers."
Le Masora Manila successfully redeveloped a warehouse located across the prestigious Ateneo University in Quezon City into the well-known food and retail complex, "The Strip." "With the success of The Strip in Quezon City, we believe that participating in the expansion of The Fort Square is a prime opportunity that will present benefits not only to the Bonifacio Global City, but to the greater Metro Manila region as a whole," said Marites Viado-Cruz, Chief Operating Officer of Le Masora Manila.
