Megaworld Int’l opens Brunei, Indon offices

-
Megaworld International, the overseas marketing arm of premier property developer Megaworld Corporation, recently opened its representatives sales offices in Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia to further strengthen its presence in the lucrative Asian property market.

Megaworld International managing director Marivic Acosta said the new offices in Brunei and Indonesia, located in Tungko Gadong and in Kelapa Gading, Jakarta, respectively, started operations during the second quarter of the year as the latest addition to the company’s Asian marketing network that includes Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.

"Our newest international sales offices will cater to a strong demand and acceptance for the Megaworld brand name among Filipino overseas professionals and foreign investors," Acosta said. "On top of excellent sales and marketing support by way of collaterals such as brochures and fliers, audio-video presentations and site briefings, we also offer value-added services including resale and leasing, interior design and home furnishing for the benefit of overseas property buyers," Acosta added.

During the first quarter of the year, Megaworld successfully entered the rich US market with the setting up of its Burlingame, California representative office in partnership with marketing firm Philippine International Properties, Inc.

Acosta said that the US marketing office will cater to property buyers in the San Francisco bay area and nearby counties, where a significant number of Filipino professionals and immigrants are based.

Plans are under way for the establishment of more sales and marketing offices in major cities in the US East and West Coasts such as Seattle, New York, New Jersey, Chicago and Los Angeles and also in Canada, Acosta said.

Megaworld’s extensive network of overseas representative offices is found in OFW-rich centers in Asia, the US, Australia, Italy, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Megaworld is fast-tracking the completion of two office buildings that will add close to 60,000 square meters to the existing office space inventory at Eastwood City CyberPark in Quezon City.

Already topped off and undergoing electro-mechanical and finishing works, the 30-story Cyber One and the 12-story Eastwood Corporate Plaza have reached more than 50 percent completion. Both buildings are due for occupancy by the third and fourth quarter of next year, respectively.

Once fully completed, Cyber One will feature fully redundant, fault-tolerant telecommunications facilities, a high-bandwidth cabling system, eight high-speed passenger elevators, multi-level basement parking and a centralized building management and security system. It will also host at its first three podium floors the country’s first IT and electronics retail center called CyberMall, which will open by December of next year.

As aesthetically pleasing as it is technologically responsive, Cyber One features a reflective tempered glass curtain wall system and concrete spandrel for its facade. It boasts an average floor plate of 1,606 square meters, a column-free office interior to suit various office layouts and a generous floor-to-ceiling height to accommodate different types of servers and network systems.

Its electro-mechanical utilities include a fire and smoke detection and automatic fire sprinkler system, standby emergency power generator, mechanical pressurization of stairs for smoke-free fire exit access, underground cistern and elevated water tank and a centralized air-conditioning system.

Eastwood Corporate Plaza, located between the IBM Plaza and Citibank Square towers, also features a glass curtain wall and boasts a multiple telecom carrier capability that will ensure efficient telecommunications services for the wired businesses on its floors. Carrying an average floor plate of 800 square meters, the mid-rise office tower offers multi-level podium parking, a back-up power system and centralized air-conditioning.

Cyber One and Eastwood Corporate Plaza offer office spaces for sale or lease to local and global IT companies looking for a high-caliber business center that will meet their stringent office requirements.

About 32 percent of Cyber One has been taken up by a number of IT-intensive companies such as animation outfit TOEI Animation.

In addition to its anchor office towers IBM Plaza and Citibank Square, the CyberPark last year completed three Silicon Valley-inspired buildings: TechnoPlaza One, International Centre for Information Technology Education and Customer Contact Center.
