Bataan LGU spends P35M for studentry

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan provincial government has undertaken massive construction of school buildings and auditoria worth P34.6 million to fill the needs of growing student population in eight towns of Bataan.

Bataan Governor Leonardo Roman has allocated P28.8 million from the Special Education Fund (SEF) for the building of 48 classrooms and from the 20 percent development fund of P5.8 million for school auditoria and covered courts.

Roman is spearheading a literacy and skills training campaign preparatory to expected influx of big and medium industries in coming years.

Amelia R. De Pano, Bataan provincial engineer, said the governor ordered the putting up of eight vertical structure school buildings when the old Marcos type buildings are beyond repairs.

She said the old buildings are mostly termite infested and, therefore, poses danger to students.

Due to limited space, Engr. De Pano said the construction of two-storey school buildings is more practical and comfortable to students.
