Join the fun, feel the thrill at Vios Racing Festival 2019’s Autocross Challenge

MANILA, Philippines — Fans of Toyota Vios in the Philippines are up for a fun and thrilling motorsports event this April.

Toyota Motor Philippines introduces the Toyota Vios Racing Festival, an upgraded Vios Cup featuring a new format and new venues spanning from April to November. It promises to give every enthusiast—seasoned and amateur alike—the waku doki excitement the Toyota Vios is known for. 

Expect a roster of high-octane and staple festival activities like the Vios Autocross Challenge and the Circuit Championship.

Racing fanfare

The newest Toyota Vios Racing Festival lets more people experience the fun and thrill of driving a Toyota, with events featuring the best-selling Vios.

Stay on top of the year-round festival’s happenings. Here are the dates for all rounds of the Autocross Vios Challenge:

• First round – April 27 and 28, The Mall of the Asia Grounds (Block 16)
• Second round – June 7 and 8, Clark International Speedway Short Track
• Third round – August 30 and 31, Clark International Speedway Short Track
• Final round – November 8 and 9, Clark International Speedway Modified Track

VIP participants, qualifiers

The participants of the autocross event will be divided into three classes: the Media Class and Celebrity Class, which will be provided with Toyota Vios units, and the Vios Owner Class using their own units.

During the qualifiers, Vios owners, media participants, and celebrities may join on Day 1, April 27. Those who qualify will move on to the knockouts the following day, April 28.

Some celebrities who have already signed up include Gerald Anderson, Daniel Matsunaga, Fabio Ide, Gretchen Ho, Chienna Filomeno, and celebrity couple Troy Montero and Aubrey Miles.

Mechanics and prizes

Participants are given one practice run and two official timed runs. The fastest time between the two timed runs will be recorded. As for penalties, every pylon/cone hit is equivalent to 2 seconds to be added on top of the final time of the run.

Special prizes and trophies will be awarded to the Top 3 qualifiers in each category (Media, Celebrity, Vios Owner).

The Vios Racing Festival is part of the Toyota Motor Philippines’ efforts in promoting motorsports in the country especially to today’s youth. It aims to discover and hone the skills of new talents, who may herald the new era of racing and motorsports.
