The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – October 12, 2015 marked the beginning of the construction of the new Toyota Manila Bay. The groundbreaking ceremony was witnessed by Pasay City Mayor, Hon. Antonino G. Calixto; Metrobank Group Vice Chairman, Dr. Antonio S. Abacan, Jr.; Toyota Motors Philippines Vice Chairman, Mr. Alfred V. Ty; and Toyota Manila Bay Group Directors and Officers headed by Dr. David T. Go.

Toyota Manila Bay began operations in August 1999. Currently the dealer belongs to the top Toyota outlets in the country. It is one of the five Toyota dealers under the joint venture of GT Capital Holdings, Inc. and Mitsui & Co., Ltd.

The new Toyota Manila Bay building will be located on a 5,000sqm lot along Roxas Blvd., Pasay City, a few meters away from its existing showroom. It will have a larger capacity and better amenities for customers. Likewise, it will offer a safe, secure and modern workplace to its employees. Set to be an environmentally responsible and resource-efficient structure, the new facility will be one of the largest automotive dealers in the country. The new TMB building will significantly be bigger with a total floor area of 31,516.94 sqm and higher, comprising nine floors.

Located on the ground floor will be the vehicle and parts showroom, customers’ waiting lounge, and service center. The mezzanine and 2nd floor levels are allocated for their administration, operations offices, conference rooms and staff cafeteria. Another lounge cafe’ is also provided on the mezzanine level where refreshments will be made available for the customers. General Services area for vehicles are located on the 3rd and 4th levels while the 5th to the roof deck will be parking spaces for new vehicles, employees and clients.

Toyota Manila Bay aims to build an environmentally responsible and resource-efficient building. Sustainable materials such as Glass, Aluminum Cladding, Steel and concrete panels will be the main architectural finishes of the building depicting the standard Toyota Motor Philippines’ color of red, silver, white  and charcoal gray. Interior design also conforms with the TMP standard colors for the service, sales and cash collection areas of blue, red and yellow accents for bulkhead and counters. Updated neutral color tones for the customer café and waiting lounges are proposed and space planning for the office areas are streamlined for better and more efficient workflow.

The proposed structure will use all energy-efficient lighting fixtures and power back-up will be at 100 percent in case of power failure. Sanitary/plumbing design is aimed to have a zero-water waste disposal and only eco-flush plumbing fixtures will be used for the building. Multi-split airconditioning system for the enclosed areas and mechanical ventilation for the parking floors are planned for a more efficient mechanical design system.
