LOS ANGELES, California—Want a special, speedy sedan but a Porsche Panamera is just not rare enough for you? Then the Panamera Exclusive Series is just the ticket. Limited to a production run of just 100 custom hand-painted, hand-finished, and individually numbered vehicles at the separate Porsche Exclusive factory, the ultra-rare Panamera debuted at last November’s LA Auto Show and is based on the 570-hp, twin-turbo V8-powered Panamera Turbo S Executive, the long-wheelbase top model of the Panamera line.
For the first time on the Panamera Exclusive Series, a two-color, graduated paint-work is applied: below the door handles a contrast is created with deep black metallic paint by a chestnut brown metallic color that runs in the background along the lines of the car to the rear. The front air inlet grilles and the 20-inch wheels in the Sport Classic design are also deep black metallic.
The interior is also very elegantly finished. All of the seats and the lower door panels are covered in Poltrona Frau leather in the prestigious Italian brand’s Agatha Chestnut Brown. The leathers used are all hand-picked and exceptionally soft. In order to enable seat ventilation, the seats’ center panels are perforated—exclusively for this limited edition in the form of the Porsche crest. Inspired by the two-color exterior paintwork, the decorative interior trim elements also feature a blend of colors: a transition to the rear from classic walnut burl wood into a deep black piano lacquer surface. There is even an optional five-piece fitted leather luggage set.
The standard infotainment system is composed of two high-resolution 10.1-inch touchscreens in the back with built-in camera, DVD player, and mobile Internet access. The sound is played out via cordless headphones or the Burmester audiophile surround sound system. The ultra-rare Panamera Exclusive Series retails for a cool US$63,000 more than the previous flagship, the long-wheelbase Panamera Turbo S Executive.
