Audi PH stages successful 5th quattro Cup

MANILA, Philippines – Cabalce and Tolentino seize Audi quattro Cup, swing to Dubai world finals Wilfredo Cabalce and Romualdo Tolentino ruled the fifth edition of the Audi quattro Cup held last October 4, earning the right to represent the Philippines in the world finals to be staged in December at Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Playing alternate team play using the Modified Stableford system, the winning golfers frolicked in fine weather at Mt. Malarayat Golf & Country Club in Lipa City, Batangas scoring 32 points – edging the duos of Oliver and Steven Gan Jr. and Vicente Romano III and Marissa Romano, who both garnered 29 points.

Audi Philippines offered a tempting reward for a rare hole-in-one: the 2.0 TDI sedan variant of the all-new A3, adjudged 2014 World Car of the Year. Recently launched locally, the Audi A3 is described by Audi AG design head Wolfgang Egger as an “innovative… very important car,” which marks the return of the sports sedan in “a very fashionable, very attractive variation.”

Cabalce and Tolentino will be the Philippines’ standard bearers at the Audi quattro Cup World Final in Dubai, with all expenses paid for by Audi Philippines. The duo will be pitted against other Audi quattro Cup winners from 52 countries at the beautiful Jumeirah Estates Earth Course.

The champions and runners-up received items from the premium Audi collection. Prizes were also raffled off to the participating golfers, and special awards went to competitors who; struck the ball nearest to the pin, nearest to the line, and the longest drive.

Established in 1991, the Audi quattro Cup Golf Tournament has grown to be one of the world’s largest and premier amateur golf tournaments. Some 1.4 million golfers have participated throughout its history. Last year, Audi dealers from 52 different countries worldwide organized a total of 965 events, attended by over 100,000 amateur golfers in South Africa.
