Mitsubishi Motors PH opens 46th dealership in Laoag City
MANILA, Philippines - Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) recently opened Northpoint Alliance Motor Corp. (NAMCO) in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. NAMCO, which is MMPC’s 46th dealership, is strategically located on a 5,245sqm lot at 50 Buttong, Airport Road, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
NAMCO has a 3,785sqm building area which boasts a 10-car display showroom. It also has a service center with 26 service bays which can accommodate various servicing requirements such as periodic maintenance, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning services, body repair and painting, among others. The showroom is open every day while the service center is open Monday to Saturday from 8AM until 6PM and by appointment during Sunday.
An inaugural ceremony was held to welcome MMPC’s newest addition to its growing dealership nationwide. This also symbolizes the opening of another Mitsubishi Motors dealership offering world-class vehicles and services in Ilocos Norte. The ceremony was made more meaningful with the attendance of Ilocos Norte’s Governor Honorable Imee Marcos, Ilocos Sur’s Governor Honorable Ryan Singson and Laoag City Mayor Honorable Chevylle Fariñas. The inauguration was also well attended by MMPC executives headed by its president and CEO, Hikosaburo Shibata and Executive Vice President Junya Masuda, NAMCO officers John Chua and Johanson Chua.

Kia Motors posts 3.4% global sales growth in July
SEOUL, Korea – Kia Motors Corporation announced last week its global sales figures (export sales, domestic sales and sales from overseas plants) for passenger cars, recreational vehicles (RVs) and commercial vehicles for July 2014, recording a total of 239,841 units sold. This figure represents a 3.4 percent year-on-year increase.
In July, Kia posted year-on-year sales increases in China, North America and Korea of 17.7 percent (48,032 units sold) 3.5 percent (58,614 units sold) and 1.9 percent (42,305 units sold), respectively.
Cumulatively, through the first seven months of 2014, Kia’s global sales have increased by 4.1 percent year-on-year, reaching 1,682,692 units. China, North America, General Markets (regions of Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Asia excluding China and Korea) and Europe have experienced cumulative gains to date in 2014 of 12.7 percent (374,140 units sold), 6.0 percent (392,971 units sold), 2.3 percent (306,075 units sold) and 0.6 percent (348,437 units sold), respectively.
Kia’s bestselling model in overseas markets for the month of July was the B-segment Rio (known as ‘K2’ in China) with 39,830 units sold. The C-segment Cerato (known as ‘Forte’ or ‘K3’ in some markets) was the second bestseller with 33,137 units delivered, while the Sportage compact CUV, Optima D-segment sedan and Soul urban crossover followed with 32,837, 21,032 and 18,863 units sold, respectively.
