Fuel savings today, greener world tomorrow

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Fuel efficiency and environmental concern all converge with the newest range of Bridgestone Ecopia tires. Philippine Allied Enterprises Corporation (PAEC), exclusive distributor of Bridgestone in the country, launched three new additions to the Ecopia lineup—the EP150, EP200 and EP850.

These tires, through the use of cutting-edge technology in materials and production, reduce rolling resistance and lessen its impact on the environment while still maintaining grip.

Bridgestone utilizes low-rolling resistance technology in their Ecopia line as part of their endeavors for environmental stewardship. From the materials they use in production until their products are used on the road, they aim to help ensure a healthy environment for current and future generations.

The latest additions to the Bridgestone lineup had their advantage in fuel consumption measured during the test drive.

EP150: for compact and small sedans

The EP150 facilitates journeys by ensuring a smooth sailing ride. Its efficient braking response enhances stopping power while its light treading reduces contact noise for a quieter ride. With the EP150, users could enjoy 4.3 percent better fuel consumption and reduce their vehicle’s CO2 emissions by 7.1 percent.

EP200: for medium-sized sedans

The EP200 stabilizes ground contact, thus enhancing driving stability. Because it runs on the Nano Pro Tech technology, three things are reduced at once—heat, rolling resistance and emissions. Minimized energy loss during rotation of the EP200 improves fuel consumption by 8.1 percent and lessens CO2 emissions by 11.1 percent.

EP850: for on-road SUVs

Lastly, the EP850, the first Ecopia tire for on-road SUVs, minimizes friction, controls stress and manages tire tear. Reduced greenhouse gas emissions and intelligent fuel consumption make up improved city and highway driving that is more comfortable and less noisy. The EP850 allows 3.9 percent improvement in fuel consumption and 3 percent decrease in CO2 emissions.

All findings are based on the BSPG and JATA test using 195/65R15 tire size of EP200 vs AR10.
