Honda receives over 2,500 reservations for All-New City
MANILA, Philippines - Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), has received 2,500 rservations for the All-New City since the introduction of the new model last April 22. Accumulated All-New City reservations in just a month signals how HCPI’s primary model has successfully set new standards in the subcompact category.
With no price increase from the previous generation City (1.3 liter engine MT), customers can already enjoy the All-New City with Honda’s improved 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine for as low as P756,000. This new and up-to-date technology integrated in the All New City is designed to achieve optimum power-to-weight ratio, which means giving the user the capability to carry heavier loads and maximizing fuel economy at the same time.
HCPI is offering its new torque converter-equipped CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) developed under Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology starting with its 1.5 E CVT. The new CVT allows seamless gear shifting, gives instantaneous throttle response and delivers exceptional fuel efficiency. At P796,000, the 1.5 E CVT (similarly priced to the previous City 1.3 liter engine AT) remains to be one of City’s bestselling variants.
Taking fuel economy a notch higher, the All-New City 1.5 E CVT and above variants are also equipped with the Eco Assist system which features the ECON mode. Engaging the ECON mode controls the engine, drive-by-wire, transmission, and air-conditioner to further improve the already outstanding fuel efficiency of the City. Furthermore, the 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine with the new CVT applied to the All New City records 16 percent fuel efficiency improvement versus the previous City 1.3 liter engine with automatic transmission.
For added premium, select variants of the new City offers first-in-class features such as the 7-inch touchscreen audio display. The 7-inch touchscreen audio display features functions such as hands-free telephone (HFT) and audio streaming via Bluetooth connectivity and voice recognition control. The audio and Bluetooth HFT can be operated via the controls mounted on the leather-wrapped steering wheel. Just below the display audio unit, is an automatic air-conditioning system that also comes with user-friendly touch panel.
To further provide convenience to everyone on board, the All New City is equipped with different ports such as auxiliary, USB, and the new HDMI port that lets you connect and mirror your smartphone on the display audio screen. On selected variants, three accessory sockets are made available at the front and rear for hassle-free gadget charging for passengers.
Together with driving performance and fuel efficiency, one of Honda‘s primary thrusts includes comprehensive methodology on vehicle safety. As standard, the new City is equipped with driver and passenger SRS airbags and ABS with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD). The top of the line variant comes with additional safety features such as side airbags, side curtain airbags, vehicle stability assist (VSA), hill start assist (HSA) and driver and front passenger seatbelt reminder, to name a few. Another new safety feature that can be found in the top-of-the-line variant is the Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) that automatically pulsates the brake and hazard lights when it senses an emergency stop. Certain variants of the All-New City are equipped with a multi-view reverse camera that is capable of displaying in three views (normal, wide, and top down).
“We knew, without an ounce of doubt, that the All-New City will make history for HCPI once launched. We are thrilled to be able to see it progressively happening already,” said Toshio Kuwahara, president and General Manager, HCPI. Designed in line with a vision that is ahead of its time, the All-New City successfully combines modernism with practicality that meets customers’ top demands in a vehicle.
