MANILA, Philippines - Beginning today until May 23, finance ministers and delegates from international and local organizations will converge for the 23rd World Economic Forum on East Asia (WEF-EA) at the Fairmont Hotel, Makati.
Chosen as the official VIP transport vehicle for the ministers are 40 brand new Volkswagen Touareg V6 units from VW’s Philippine distributor, Automobile Central Enterprise, Inc. (ACEI).
The Touareg is a luxury sport utility vehicle that offers a high level of comfort, sporty driving characteristics avant-garde styling, excellent quality and unlimited expedition capabilities – essentially the best of the passenger car and off-road worlds unified in one concept. This legacy is now being continued in the second generation Touareg – a high-end and versatile all-around vehicle that brings these two worlds together even more perfectly.
The meeting serves as an ideal platform for participants to deliberate the opportunities of the ASEAN Economic Community to promote greater inclusion across East Asia and to instill more resilient decision-making in the face of unpredictable economic and natural disruptions.
“On a global scale, Volkswagen AG is an official automotive industry partner of the World Economic Forum and supports the WEF’s mission of uniting world leaders to address common issues of concern across nations. We are pleased to extend this partnership for the World Economic Forum on East Asia here in the Philippines in May and support these collaborative efforts of government and business leaders from all over the world,†said JP Orbeta, president of Automobile Central Enterprise, Inc. (ACEI), the official distributor of Volkswagen in the country.

It is an international institution committed to improving the state of the world through public-private cooperation. Together with other stakeholders, it works to define challenges, solutions and actions, always in the spirit of global citizenship.
