MANILA, Philippines - Tata Motors, the automotive arm of one of the most respected corporate houses of India that has had strong global presence for the last 145 years, made its lo al debut at the recently concluded Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) at the World Trade Center.

This company is truly world-renowned as it is recognized for building India’s very first indigenously-developed car – the Indica. Of late, Tata Motors has also received international acclaim for building the world’s cheapest car – the Tata Nano – marketed as its country’s own ‘People’s Car.’ Furthermore Tata is now among the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world—it has secured its place as a Fortune 500 company, is listed in the New York Stock Exchange—and is now the world’s fifth largest truck manufacturer and fourth largest in bus manufacturing. The entry of Tata Motors as a new player in the Philippine automotive market is certainly a significant milestone that is bound to change the dynamics of local car sales.

“The world trusts the brand Tata, people know the quality and reliability that is synonymous with the name. New innovations and technologies are constantly imbibed in the latest vehicles produced by the brand, such as the new generation of diesel-powered engines for commercial vehicles that deliver durable, fuel-efficient vehicles for motorists worldwide,” remarked David Coyukiat, president and Chairman of Pilipinas Taj Autogroup, the exclusive importer and distributor of Tata Motors vehicles in the Philippines, during his speech at the 2014 MIAS. “The introduction of the first Indian car brand in the country also signifies the arrival here of vehicles that are more suited to Asian countries with new features that can stand up to other brands in the market,” he added.

In line with this, Tata Motors took the opportunity to showcase a string of its product offerings in their booth at the MIAS. On exhibit at the Tata display area wer: the Tata Manza INI sedan; the sporty hatchback Tata Vista INI; the Xenon DLS and Xenon DLE sports pickups; and the much acclaimed Tata Ace and Super Ace multicabs.

“They are a perfect blend of looks and performance,” exclaimed Pilipinas TAJ Autogroup Inc. General Manager, Nicky Mariano. “Tata Motors brings affordable, durable vehicles that are fuel-efficient and caters to the needs of the market. It is the leading, most trusted motoring brand in India, and we are confident that we can provide the same quality and value to the Philippine motoring industry,” he added.

The Philippine Tata Motors showrooms are located at Marcos Highway, Cainta Rizal and Barrio Pampanga, Davao City.
