MANILA, Philippines - Ford Philippines reported its best-ever February performance with overall retail sales jumping 108 percent year-on-year to 865 units. Continuing the company’s best start to any year, and building on the momentum from its best-ever January, the exceptional month was driven by strong sales of vehicles across the Ford line-up.
“We’re off to a very strong start to the year, as customers continue to respond positively to our full line-up of Ford vehicles,†said Randy Krieger, president, Ford Philippines.
“So many new-to-Ford customers are appreciating our focus on the fuel efficiency, smart technology, quality and safety of our vehicles, which we’re supporting with an ongoing commitment to providing the very best Ford customer experience,†added Krieger.
The class-defining all-new Ford Ranger led the way in February, continuing to demonstrate its wide appeal and demand with February retail sales of 251 units.
Ford will further expand the all-new Ranger line-up in the Philippines next month with the launch of the range-topping all-new Ford Ranger Wildtrak at the Manila International Auto Show.
Sales of Ford SUVs also delivered strong monthly performances in February, with the popular Ford Everest recording sales of 191 units. Healthy demand for the all-new Ford Explorer continued in February with sales of 64 units, bringing customer deliveries to nearly 1,000 units since its local market launch.
The record February was also supported by a strong performance from the technology-packed all-new Ford Focus, which saw sales rise 16 percent year-on-year from the previous generation Focus to 87 units.
The Ford Mustang added another 13 units in February, bringing total customer deliveries to 183 since this iconic Ford nameplate was launched in the Philippines.
“By offering customers the widest range of Ford vehicles ever in the Philippines – which now covers a full line-up of segment-leading cars, SUVs and trucks – our brand is connecting with, and appealing to, a much wider variety of lives and lifestyles,†said Krieger.
To support the introduction of segment-leading One Ford vehicles, Ford continues to build on its commitment to further improving its customer experience, which includes customer convenience from an even wider network of nationwide coverage.
Ford is on track to open new dealerships in Bohol, General Santos, Laoag, Zamboanga, Manila Bay and Baguio, expanding its nationwide network to 35 by the middle of the year.
