Peugeot to participate in the Caltex 2013 STV ARCC

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Peugeot 3008, one of several Peugeot vehicles set to participate in the Caltex 2013 STV ARCC.

Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (EDI), the Philippines’ official Peugeot importer and distributor, has announced its support for and intent to join the Caltex 2013 STV Auto Rally Corporate Challenge (ARCC). The ARCC, patterned after the “Tulip Rally” popularized in the 1960s, is an “on time, all the time” activity that does not promote speed as much as is does adherence to common road rules and laws.

Organized by veteran motoring journalist Ray Butch Gamboa of Sunshine Television, this year’s staging will be divided into two segments, the first of which will be held on Saturday, March 23 in Tagaytay City. The WIND Residences in Tagaytay City, an expansive SMDC project, would be the flag-off area for the 1st leg. The 2nd leg is set for late this year on November 30 through the maze of winding roads inside Subic and adjoining Zambales province.

EDI is joined by 16 other vehicle manufacturers in the ARCC—with a maximum of four cars to be fielded by each team, the starting grid could well be composed of 68 vehicles, making it one of the most participated motoring events in recent memory.

“We at EDI believe in promoting road safety. It is but proper for anyone involved in the automotive industry to support such a cause. Participating in the Caltex 2013 STV ARCC makes a strong statement for such a stand. We are thankful for Mr. Gamboa and his staff at STV for giving all of us in the automotive industry a chance to take this stand,” stated Dong Magsajo, EDI Marketing Director.
