Supercars assemble! Supercar Day hits Resorts World Manila

MANILA, Philippines - Resorts World Manila’s exclusive Genting Club, in partnership with FoilACar Manila, recently held the first Annual GRrrr…Supercar Day last October 28 at the Newport Terminal.

Car collectors and aficionados experienced a thrill like no other with the showcase of over 84 sleek, eye-catching exotic supercars at the open space of the Newport Terminal on display from 7am until noon, with a red chrome colored rendition of the Audi R8 GT by Foilacar Manila as the centerpiece of the event. The red chrome foil of the Audi is the first of its kind in Asia, and it represents the introduction of Foilacar’s chrome series.

Organized by Lester Codog, President of Foilacar Manila, Resorts World Manila became the venue for the single largest gathering of supercars which included Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Maseratis and Mercedes-Benzes, led by a silver SLS AMG driven by Felix Ang, President of CATS Motors. “This is an awesome event. This is my first time to see this many supercars in one venue,” remarked Ang.

Codog also revealed that the Supercar Day is meant to promote the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) marketing slogan of “Its more fun in the Philippines.” “It was a picture perfect moment to see a fleet of Lamborghinis and Ferraris driving from Resorts World to Alabang and back to celebrate this grand event. It is good that our friends supported us, which shows that supercar driving is definitely more fun in the Philippines,” adds Codog.

The Supercar Day is a prelude to events that will be staged by Resorts World Manila starting this November. A Luxury Car fair will rev up vintage car junkies’ enthusiasm as the Grand Fiesta 2012 kicks off with a Vintage Car Show, starting November 25 until December 1 at the Newport Plaza grounds.

Grand Fiesta 2012 is Resorts World Manila’s six-week celebration of the holiday season. The longest and grandest Yuletide fete that features the best of what the Filipino can offer, showing significant support to the Department of Tourism’s “It’s more Fun in the Philippines” campaign.
