Hyundai strengthens partnership with UP Women Lawyers' Circle
MANILA, Philippines - Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) and the UP Women Lawyers’ Circle (UP WILOCI) recently held the blessing and inauguration of the Hyundai Seminar Room and the Hyundai Kaisa ng Kababaihan at Kabataan Van which HARI, through HARI Foundation, Inc., donated to UP WILOCI, a professional organization of all women graduates of the University of the Philippines College of Law.
This donation is a testament to HARI’s shared advocacy with UP WILOCI in safeguarding and enforcing the rights of Filipino women and children. HARI’s earlier donation of seed money and a Hyundai H-100 van has significantly advanced UP WILOCI’S Legal Assistance Program which covers counseling, research and consultancy work, case management, and legal literacy projects on various legal issues with emphasis on child abuse and violence against women.
HARI Foundation President and Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) President and CEO Fe Perez-Agudo summed up HARI’s support of UP WILOCI, saying, “This is a tribute to strong women. We decided to support the leadership of WILOCI in championing the equality of rights for women and children. The assistance that we extend to them is our humble way of rallying for their cause. We look forward to institutionalizing this program as one of our organization’s priority Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.”
WILOCI’s outgoing President and current Board of Trustee Atty. Fides Cordero-Tan on the other hand expressed profound gratitude to HARI for its support, and commended the leading automotive firm’s “continuing support of various cause-oriented, charitable and socially relevant undertakings that impact on the day-to-day life of the ordinary Filipino.”
Through HARI Foundation, Inc., HARI commits to localizing Hyundai Motor Company’s (HMC) global bid to promote a lifestyle of authentic caring and sharing. This commitment to good corporate citizenship is expressed through a triple bottomline approach—economic growth, community development, and environment protection.
