Liqui Moly: Reaching out to those who matter

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Liqui Moly, Germany’s no. 1 engine oil brand, successfully partners with Chevrolet Club Philippines and Chevrolet EDSA-Greenhills during the club’s Grand Eyeball and official launch held last June.

With over 40 cars and club members in attendance together with Atty. Albert Arcilla, President and Managing Director of The Covenant Car Company, Incorporated, importer and distributor of Chevrolet vehicles in the country, as well as Cecile Mabutas, General Manager of Chevrolet EDSA-Greenhills in attendance, the club event featured a fully packed program of activities to mark the formalization of the organization and the opening of its headquarters at the Chevrolet Greenhills showroom.

“Liqui Moly has always been an avid supporter of car enthusiasts,” says Benjamin Ong, Vice President of Liqui Moly Philippines. He adds, “Our products have been thoroughly developed in Germany to cater to the demanding needs of motorists all over the world and by supporting Chevrolet Club Philippines, we are sharing with everyday motorists the superior protection and performance of Liqui Moly.”

The daylong event also saw discussion groups conducted for Chevrolet owners intended to further develop appreciation for their cars. Two batches of seminars were held throughout the day with topics ranging from defensive driving to safety and automotive maintenance. Technical and product experts on automotive servicing and car care were on hand to lend their knowledge and expertise to the Chevy Club members as they asked intently about the best ways to care for their cars.

As part of the club’s engine maintenance discussion, Chevrolet EDSA-Greenhills Service Manager Rommel Rivera and Liqui Moly conducted a short talk among Chevrolet owners about motor oils and the benefits of using the right oil in improving performance and prolonging the life of a car’s engine.

With the Liqui Moly MoS2 Low Friction 15W-40 motor oil, made from select base oils, and the MoS2 Low Friction SAE 10W-40 engine oil, made from mineral and synthetic blends, as the centerpiece of the discussion, Chevy club owners were given an insight on how both high-performance lubricants can make a difference in their rides.

Both Liqui Moly products, which are also used by Chevrolet EDSA-Greenhills as part of its Preventive Maintenance Service or PMS for Chevy owners, feature molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) a metal/sulfur compound pioneered for lubrication use by Liqui Moly founder Hans Henle. This low-friction inorganic compound gives the German-made oils their characteristic black color straight out of the package. Molybdenum, the metallic component of the oil additive, together with the sulfur group, form a lubricating substance that provides high levels of protection and enhanced performance of the oil and consequently the engine itself.

Resistant to heat up to temperatures of 350°C as well as chemical attacks, MoS2 technology has been in use since World War II to keep aircraft engines operating even after they have lost oil pressure.

Liqui Moly also offers a wide range of additives and lubricants as well as a complete range of car care products for discerning motorists, all of which are manufactured at Liqui Moly’s own factory in Germany. Its comprehensive line up of products as well as its unparalleled customer care service have earned for the Swabian oil and additives specialist the best brand vote by prestigious magazines such as Auto Bild, Auto Motor und Sport, and Auto Zeitung in 2011 and 2012.
