Motorbike ownership now made hassle-free with extended warranty

MANILA, Philippines - Despite a local motorcycle population of 4.5 million units in 2011 (MDPPA), and with 80 percent of new vehicle registrations being for motorcycles (LTO), the Philippine motorcycle industry still continues to grow. MMDA even predicts that by 2013, motorcycle will hit the 1M mark target in sales.

However, a lot of commuters are still hesitant to shift from commuting to getting their own motorcycle primarily because of the seemingly high maintenance and repair costs. What a lot of people do not know is that there is such a thing as motorcycle extended warranty.

“Similar to our other services, Asia Warranty will be enabling motorcycle riders a hassle-free riding experience. The Extended warranty program will cover engine, gearbox, clutch, swinging arm unit, electrical, casings, and major oil leaks,” Sharon Camesa, country manager, Asia Warranty Services said.

Camesa added, “Motorcycle buyers may ask from their dealers about extended warranty programs, with options of additional one or two years, on top of the manufacturer’s standard warranty.”

Asia Warranty Services is a third-party administrator of extended warranty solutions to automobiles, motorcycles, big-ticket electronics products (home & office use) and even condominiums.

Extended Warranty programs are offered as protection plans for the vehicle for a specific period of time and/or mileage, where containment of the cost of ownership is achieved. These programs cover repair and parts costs related to mechanical, electrical, and electronic breakdowns after the manufacturer’s warranty expires.

Motorcycle extended warranties are offered primarily by manufacturers, distributors, franchised and independent dealers, leasing companies, retail stores and financial institutions. These warranties range in coverage from specifically named components to literally, every component of a motorcycle.
