Nissan-Pilipinas by Universal Motors Corporation brings the internet to the streets

-

MANILA, Philippines - The increasing need of Filipinos to be constantly connected to the Internet has prompted companies like Universal Motors Corporation (the official assembler and distributor of the Nissan Urvan, Navara, Murano and Patrol) to make the Internet even more accessible by taking it to the streets-literally.

“UMC has always taken pride in being the first to answer the needs of Filipino automobile owners. We were the first to introduce Diesel engines in the Philippines and now we are going to be one of the first in the country to introduce Wi-fi connectivity for all our new passenger and commercial vans with our Biyaheng Blockbuster promo,” says Honeymae Limjap, AVP for Marketing and Sales of Universal Motors Corporation.

According to Limjap, Urvans purchased from February 8, 2012 to March 31, 2012 will be fitted with a built-in Wi-Fi router plus two headrest monitors with a DVD player at no adjustments to the retail price.

“The possibilities of this offering are endless – imagine, commuting to work in an Urvan shuttle which has Wi-fi – you and your co-passengers may have already finished work before stepping in the office. For students stuck in traffic, they can do homework and online research on the road with just one broadband stick,” adds Limjap.

Using the wifi-router is simple: just plug in a compatible USB broadband stick to the on-board Wi-Fi router and all the passengers in the vehicle enjoy instant Wi-fi connectivity.

“This is more than just a promotional gimmick, we believe that it’s going to be a positive influence in the daily lives of Filipinos,” adds Limjap.
