A Sparkling Year for Chevrolet Philippines

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Covenant Car Company, Inc. is elated to share the numerous successes it has earned in 2011. Only on its 2nd year of being the exclusive importer and distributor of Chevrolet automobiles, parts and accessories in the Philippines and the milestones are already flowing in. With 36.4% sales growth year-on-year due to the increased number of units sold (2,763 units) from Jan-Dec 2011, the consistent positive sales result is attributed to the market’s increased interest in Chevy passenger cars like its new 5-door mini hatch, the Chevrolet Spark and the award-winning compact sedan, the Chevrolet Cruze. The robust growth is believed to have propelled the brand when Chevrolet Philippines posted 54.3% sales figures on its first year in operation with 2,025 units sold from Jan-Dec 2010. These results have definitely contributed to Chevrolet’s astounding global sales of which, one Chevy vehicle sold in every 6.9 seconds.

In the first quarter of 2011, the Cruze won the highest honor of the most coveted award in the automotive industry – being named as the Best Compact Sedan in its class as well as the Philippine Car of the Year award following a slew of awards it garnered in other parts of the world. The optimism that came from having introduced an award-winning product to the Philippine market translated to an enthusiasm for launching new offerings from Chevrolet including the Chevy Spark, which gained a massive following evidenced by the fact that it was used as a main character in a local network’s teen-oriented show.

Building A Strong Base

2011 also saw TCCCI’s efforts at developing a foundation to support more customers. Aside from the 11 current dealerships, TCCCI signed on to open five new dealerships in key areas all over the country namely: Chevrolet Greenhills-EDSA, Chevrolet North-EDSA, Chevrolet Otis-Manila, Chevrolet Cebu and Chevrolet Tacloban. And soon to open Chevrolet Cagayan de Oro. Moreover, TCCCI is expected to open four additional dealerships in the near future in fulfillment to its commitment to serve its clientele with excellent products and services. The new dealerships along with the rest of the current dealer partners nationwide will make it easier to reach the growing number of the public who are joining in on the Chevy love bandwagon.

The new generation dealerships along with the rest of the current dealerships were forecast to set the trend for better quality service in the Philippines. And it’s already paid off based on a JD Power survey ranking Chevrolet as the no. 1 car brand in the Philippines that offers the best after-sales services, giving it a stellar record when it comes to customer satisfaction.

Steps for Growth in Year 3

At the company’s Thanksgiving dinner for its dealer partners, TCCCI’s President and Managing Director, Atty. Albert Arcilla acknowledged Chevrolet’s growing market and the trust they have placed in the brand. On behalf of the entire team, he expressed his heartfelt thanks, “rest assured that we take your trust in the brand and our management group to heart and will treat it as our covenant to constantly keep you, our customers, happy and satisfied.”

With that promise in mind, Chevrolet in the Philippines will continue to do its best in giving the public more reasons to love Chevy. That means more new cars, being present in more segments and presenting valuable offers for the Filipino consumer to fall in love with! And in true Chevy fashion, these products will all come with the best look, performance, value for money, and worry-free ownership (through the 5 year warranty, 24/7 Chevy Emergency Roadside Support, etc.) that the brand has proven through the awards received and offers presented in the past two years of operation under new management. And while it celebrates the many achievements for the company’s outstanding customer service, it aims to get even better with continuous training of service teams from the dealer network it has and will have in this year. All of these efforts are intended for the benefit of the Filipino automotive market.

Stay tuned for more exciting developments as well as the arrival of at least two new products in 2012 such as the Chevrolet Colorado (pickup) and Chevrolet Sonic (sub-compact sedan).
