MANILA, Philippines - For FOTON, two shining moments in a row is never too many.
After the memorable unveiling of the first ever customized FOTON View Van in this year’s Manila International Auto Show, FOTON and Atoy Bodykits once again put the wheeled-masterpiece under the spotlight in the 20th Trans Sport Show held last May 26-29 at the SMX Convention Center – this time, securing the show’s “Best in Interior” award.
The said FOTON Custom View Van was one of several FOTON vehicles that caught the imaginative wisps of renowned auto customizer Atoy Llave. “It has always been an exciting challenge to work with FOTON units,” he said, “Its clean design acts like a canvas for our team’s creative modifications.” The vision for the spacious View Van (originally a 15-seater passenger van) was inspired by a stylish retro theme chosen for the star-status utility of the unit. “I went for a neutral color palette. I decided to use red, white, and black, which all in all worked well with the project,” he says.
Among other modifications, the FOTON View Van also had the upholstery of its seats changed to leather, the carpet finished floor to vinyl, and the ceiling to a raised bubbletop. The unit was also pimped up with vanity mirrors, cabinets, sink, wine chiller, swiveling captain chairs, infinity speakers, a 15” TV set, and a sofa bed. Finally, the masterpiece was capped by a custom-printed sticker with the owner’s name on it.
“Everyone who passed by couldn’t help but take pictures,” he commented, “It’s amazing to be part in making the FOTON brand known through projects like this.”
