Delivery service company relies on Goodyear tires

MANILA, Philippines - LBC is a 60-year old company whose name and reputation are anchored on the ideas of trust, reliability and speed. With 926 branches nationwide and growing, LBC is one of the biggest names in courier and remittance services and is already a byword as the “Hari ng Padala” (King of Delivery) in Filipino households here and around the world.

The nature of the company’s business requires meeting highly critical delivery timelines on a daily basis. According to Chris Guidotti, LBC Vice President for Procurement, “The biggest challenge for us is really the day-to-day operation of the business. As much as possible we do not want delays in deliveries which will affect our customer promise.”

In order to fulfill these important commitments locally, LBC maintains a vast fleet of 300 on-ground vehicles around the country that include L300 vans, 4-wheel canters, and a mix of 6-wheeler and 10-wheeler trucks. These ground vehicles have been recently fitted with Goodyear tires such as the Goodyear Hi-Miler G2020, Wrangler AT/SA, WRangler D-Sport, Wrangler DT, Cargo G26, Hi-Miler G141, Hi-Miler CT163 and Hi-Miler CT176.

“We partnered with Goodyear because Goodyear is a renowned worldwide tire brand that is giving us world-class quality and support,” Guidotti continues. “From the tires’ quality features to the prices down to the training of the drivers, Goodyear has been working with us every step of the way to ensure that we know how the products and services are used and maximized. What’s more, it is convenient for us because Goodyear has a nationwide network of more than a hundred service centers which are easily accessible for our branches.”

LBC vehicles usually use up 800-900 tires a year, but since switching to Goodyear, Guidotti says there is a marked improvement in tire life, which has reduced the number of times needed to change tires. This has made switching brands one of the wisest decisions he has made.
