Castrol is Official Oil of 2011 Ironman Challenge

MANILA, Philippines –  Castrol has been recently named as the official oil of the 2011 BOSS Ironman Challenge VI that will happen this weekend at Clark, Pampanga. Castrol will be powering more than 300 motorcycle riders and cars that have signed up for the endurance event. The Ironman Challenge is a 1,200-kilometer and 24-hour ride and drive around Northern Luzon. The event will flag-off at the Balintawak Home Depot of Friday midnight and will end at the Oxford Hotel in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga on Saturday evening.

In what has become an annual tradition, the BOSS Ironman Challenge is on its sixth year and has been attended by motorcycle and car enthusiasts. BOSS stands for the BMW Owners Society of Saferiders and has been the organizer of the event since its inception. The endurance ride started with just a few participants all looking to see if they could ride the 1,200 Kilometer route within 24 hours.

In 2010, the number of participants exceeded 200 making it the biggest event to date. Riders were given the opportunity to test their skills while keeping in mind safe riding, navigating, orienteering and physical endurance and at the same time, meet other motor sports enthusiasts from other clubs all over the country while enjoying the beautiful sights of Northern Luzon. Due to the events’ success, elite privateers, motorcycle groups and car clubs have signed up for the 2011 event with more than 300 confirmed participants.
