Kawasaki to unveil new models

MANILA, Philippines - They will come from all over the islands to converge at the glitzy MARRIOTT HOTEL Ballroom in Pasay City. Representatives of over 1,500 dealer-outlets of Kawasaki motorbikes will don their best rocker-outfit for a day of fun, nostalgia and excitement for the event that is aptly titled “Heavy Metal, The Rock ’N Rolling Dealers Convention of 2010”. The celebration is part of “The Great Asian Connection” alliance forged by Kawasaki in 2009 wherein the company partners with other Asian countries, particularly India and Taiwan, for technical collaboration to bring the best motorbikes to the Philippines.

It is also an opportune time to meet the newly appointed President and Chairman of the Board of Kawasaki Motors (Phils.) Corporation, Jin Inoue, who will unveil his vision for KMPC for the next decade. A vision that is firm on the commitment to the dealers and the general riding public that Kawasaki will deliver the best motorbikes at a price most affordable to the Filipinos.

The day will be another exciting day for the dealers as they witness first-hand the unveiling of two new KMPC motorcycles: the Rouser 135cc and Rouser 220cc.

Rouser 135 is “arousingly” different from the moment it was conceived and built. It is the first 135cc incorporated with the Digital Twin Spark-ignition or DTS-i 4-valve engine technology for better performance. This engine has 2 Intake and 2 Exhaust valves compared to 1 Intake and 1 Exhaust valve of a 2-valve engine. These valves are smaller and lighter compared to that of 2-valve engine. 4 valves are introduced to improve breathing means – intake & exhaust process of the engine.

Digital Twin Spark Ignition (DTS-i) ensures complete burning of fuel and air mixture, minimizing harmful emission to promote green environment. The results: better engine performance; better power, pick-up & throttle response; better fuel efficiency; low emissions; light weight & compact engine; higher RPM redline.

But Rouser 135 does not only impress you with its technology. It also takes your breath away with its styling. Muscular petrol tank with tank pad, attractive tank spoilers, aerodynamic side covers, split seats, 2-piece clip-on handle bar, 2-piece grab rail, new generation head lamp, 3-piece attractive fairing with louvers, twin pilot lamps, floating visor and aluminum rider steps with foldable foot rests all make for a stylish & sporty looks – the perfect light sports bike with premium looks and sporty stance.

The Rouser 220’s performance is even heavier: 4-stroke DTS-i 220cc engine, digital twin-spark ignition, digital DC CDI with TPS control, DC ignition system, CV carburetor, new starter clutch, oil-cooled engine, controlled lubrication system for clutch, bigger exhaustech box, bigger catalytic converter all add up to deliver razor sharp response to throttle inputs, more power at all load conditions, better torque at low rpm, less emissions, autochoke for ease of “startability” during cold mornings, environment friendly bike, smooth gear. Plus, it is equipped with front and rear disc brake system for maximum safety on the road.
