MMPC Supports Road Safety Advocacy
MANILA, Philippines – Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) recently firmed up its cooperating partnership with Sunshine Television and Socio Com Foundation for Asia to conduct the 2010 Young Street Smarts Club Road Safety School Tour.
The Road Safety School Tour is a series of free seminar/workshop being conducted in schools by LTO accredited lecturers to help mold the young minds of students for them to become safe and responsible road users. The seminar’s teaching module centers on practical topics like traffic signs and road markings, right of way, road courtesy, pedestrian and commuter safety and safe bike riding. To ensure the students’ sustained interest the teach-ins are designed to be interactive with contests being held after every topic, which also serve to find out what has been assimilated and retained and at the same time act as a review of the topics taken up.
To date students from the Lourdes School of Mandaluyong, Rizal High School in Pasig City, Sitero Franscisco Memorial High School in Valenzuela City, Makati Hope Christian School, Saint Anthony School in Manila have benefited from the free Road Safety Seminar with schools like San Sebastian College and St. Joseph’s College are lined up next. For this year a total of ten schools are included in the short list with a more to be scheduled next year.
Other than Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, other responsible corporate citizens that have answered the call for support for the road safety advocacy include the Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC), developers and operators of the NLEX and Ropali Corporation, the one-stop multi-brand motorcycle distributor.
