Kia Soul and Sorento interior accent illumination safety recall campaign

MANILA, Philippines - Columbian Autocar Corporation, the exclusive distributor of Kia vehicles in the Philippines is conducting a voluntary safety recall campaign to repair wiring associated with the interior illumination in two models to prevent heat-related damage. The recall affects Soul vehicles equipped with front speaker lights (manufactured between September 7, 2009 and June 8, 2010); and Sorento vehicles (manufactured between September 1, 2009 and July 1, 2010) that are equipped with door trim illumination.

The recall affects approximately 9 Souls and 312 Sorentos in the Philippines. Columbian Autocar Corporation is not aware of any reported accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified via first-class mail beginning September 15 to bring their vehicle to a Kia dealership for the appropriate service action to be performed free-of-charge.
