AAP to assist DOTC in fighting colorum vehicles and smoke belchers

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Ping de Jesus and DOTC Undersecretary Anneli Lontoc met with Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) president Gus Lagman, vice-president Johnny Angeles and Treasurer Jogy Mantaring to discuss possible means to address the problems on colorum vehicle operation and smoke-belching. According to DOTC Sec. de Jesus, AAP may help address these problems by “deputizing” AAP members provided with communication equipment linked with DOTC to alert roving patrols.

The AAP-Toyota Road Safety Call Center that receives calls (414-2288; 723-0625), text messages (0917-5042288) and emails ([email protected]) on hazardous road conditions which are relayed to appropriate government agencies for necessary actions may also be contacted to report colorum vehicle operation and smoke-belching.
