Great Wall Cars to go on display at MIAS

MANILA, Philippines - Great Wall Cars, through its exclusive Philippine importer and distributor Statemotor Corporation, will be showcasing a wide lineup of motor vehicles during the 6th Manila International Auto Show (Mias) at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Six models will go on display, namely, the Hover 2.8L CRDI 4x4 SUV, Wingle 2.8L CRDI 4x4 pickup, Cowry 2.0L MIVEC MPV, Florid 1.3L DOHC passenger car, Peri 1.3L DOHC passenger car and the Coolbear 1.5LVVT passenger car, which will be exhibited in the Show for the first time.

“Our participation in last year’s MIAS was a success in terms of the number of visitors and inquiries that we entertained and this is the reason why we are back for this year’s edition. The MIAS allowed us to demonstrate to the public the quality of our vehicles and many of them had a positive experience when they drove the models that we made available for the test-drive,” said Statemotor president Allen Roxas.

“Visitors of the MIAS who have not been to our two dealerships, Great Wall EDSA and Great Wall Alabang, will also get a chance to see our newest addition to our lineup, the Coolbear. Just like last year, they will also be able to test all our models at the show,” Roxas added.

According to John Mabulay, Statemotor Corporation assistant vice president for marketing, “Statemotor Corporation was appointed Philippine distributor of Great Wall Motor in 2008 and our first two Metro Manila dealers opened in January 2010. All our vehicles are built using components from Bosch of Germany.Our gasoline engines are Euro 4 compliant, while our diesel engines are Euro 3 compliant. This is why we would like to invite the public to come and visit our booth to try our vehicles in the test-drive area provided by the organizers.”

For the last 11 years, Great Wall’s pickup series such as the Wingle have consistently topped sales in the Chinese market, while its SUVs such as the Hover have proven to be bestsellers for six successive years. In terms of the international market, Great Wall has been the top exporter for nine consecutive years. In the Philippines, more Great Wall dealerships as well as an assembly plant are set to open within the year.
