Shell V-Power Karting: Experiencing the Ferrari kick

To allow the motoring media to experience the thrill and power behind their recently launched V-Power gasoline, Shell held recently a V-Power Karting event for car enthusiasts and media representatives at City Kart, the new indoor/outdoor karting track between the SLEX service road stretch of Bicutan and Sucat.
By allowing the participants to experience V-Power in action, Shell hopes to reinforce the new fuels positioning as a uniquely formulated gasoline that allows drivers to experience the exhilaration of driving with the fuel used by Ferrari. Shell products have contributed to Ferraris Formula One success by supplying the optimal fuels and lubricants to run at engine speeds reaching 20,000 rpm.
With the launch of its Ferrari-inspired V-Power fuel, Pilipinas Shell now allows everyday drivers to achieve the same results in their own cars. "It brings together the technical expertise of Shell and Ferrari in a product thats designed for drivers like you and me. Now, with Shell V-Power, a car is not just any car. Rather, its a car that moves better, giving you that exhilarating driving experience, almost as if you were driving in the F1 races. Shell V-Power, a Ferrari-inspired high performance product by Shell Global Solutions, is designed to deliver high-efficiency combustion thereby maximizing engine performance. This means that the engine can produce more power and run more smoothly. This is important because over time, deposits can build up in the cars engine. With its unique formulation, Shell V-Power is designed to remove and prevent these deposits.
The Shell V-Powers Friction Modifier Technology helps reduce energy loss inside the engine as well as control power-sapping deposits. All these were put to the test in the V-Power Karting event wherein the enthusiasts and the press competed with each other on the track using go-karts fueled by V-Power. City Karts race track, characterized by its long straights, sweeping curves and eleven technical turns, proved to be a challenge for racers as the stopwatch ticked away during their F1 qualifying-style timed laps, with the drivers posting the three quickest times taking the podium.
