Give Your Engine a Flush

The Oil Change — one of the most vital preventive maintenance procedures any vehicle owner must perform on his or her vehicle. Not only does this — along with oil- and fuel-filter change — ensure a well-lubricated engine but at the same time, it helps remove harmful corrosion.

With the oil change procedure being quite a tedious task however, some service centers try to "speed things up" by using compressed air. True, it may speed things up. It can also, however, speed up the corrosion of your vehicle’s engine as moisture is introduced into the engine. And with the absence of any form of protection, this is a sure recipe for disaster.

Why Not "Flush"

Regardless of whether the above practice is done or not, changing the filters and draining the engine oil alone cannot remove harmful engine deposits. Even quality engine oils can form acids and varnish/gum/sludge deposits, which remain in the engine even after draining and clog vital parts and reduce engine performance.

Some Simple Tips

1. Do not drive the vehicle when using STP Engine Flush.

2. Ensure the oil in the crankcase is up to a normal level.

3. Allow the car’s engine to run until it reaches normal operating temperature.

4. Turn the engine off.

5. Add the entire can of STP Engine Flush (450ml treats from 3 to 6 litres of oil).

6. Start the engine and run at fast idle for 15 minutes.

7. Turn off the engine and carefully drain the oil while it is still hot. Pour in a good quality engine oil.
