One Ring to Rule the Roads

- Dong Magsajo -
First, a disclaimer. The above mentioned head will be the first and last allusion to the Peter Jackson’s epic blockbuster trilogy in this article. The real story here is whether there actually is a blockbuster discovery waiting to pounce on us all. The Philippine STAR was recently approached by KOEM153 Trading Corporation, makers of the "New Car Powering (Gold Type)", a product that could be the answer to even the most troubled vehicle’s attempts to comply with the Clean Air Act.

The Korean-made New Car Powering (Gold Type) is actually a secondary oxygen direct supply device, which when affixed to a vehicle’s ignition plug, aims to aid its inhalation process. The New Car Powering claims to supply secondary oxygen to the carburetion and injection process, which in turn will raise engine output and performance. Theoretically, it could thus promote engine power at less fuel consumption by increasing airflow and air pressure into a vehicle’s combustion room. All this could again theoretically result in improving vehicle combustion, which makes it of specific interest to the Philippine setting, what with the recent implementation of the Clean Air Act. Note that we have made it a point to say that these are all "claims and aims" because we have yet to actually give the New Car Powering a legitimate test.

Which is where our difficulties lie. Without a "test vehicle" available, we could not fit the New Car Powering into any vehicle as yet. Thankfully, as of presstime, KOEM153 has already made arrangements with the Greenhills Car Accessories, Tires and Servicenter, Inc. (more popularly known as CATS), which plans to conduct tests on the product and initially serve as the product’s distributor.

As it is, the New Car Powering will have to earn its laurels — as well as the respect and approval of the necessary agencies — before it can actually make a substantial dent in the country’s motoring industry. The good news, however, is that this early, a car fitted with the said product has already passed initial emission tests done by the Land Transportation Office to determine carbon monoxide content. Talk about taking off on the right foot.

Roy Ramos, KOEM153’s executive vice president, is confident that the New Car Powering will eventually take its place as a necessary addition to vehicles that ply Philippine roads. He’s in no hurry to present it to the world as a miracle invention, but he insists that the product’s effectiveness will eventually speak for itself. In the meantime, he’s willing to answer all pertinent questions regarding the New Car Powering. Anyone who’s interested in the product may approach him and inquire directly. The establishment that plans to distribute it is willing to enlighten all as well. Interested parties may call Mr. Ramos at 672-2229 and/or CATS at 722-1102.
