Audi A4 wins awards in Spain, Germany

The Audi A4 has been chosen the "Family Car of the Year" by Spain’s Car & Driver, one of the leading motoring magazines in the country.

Readers of the magazine, the local affiliate of renowned American automobile monthly, Car & Driver, chose the Audi A4 as the best family luxury sedan citing its "high levels of safety and comfort, combined with low fuel consumption".

Meanwhile, Bild am Sonntag, a prestigious weekly publication in Germany, has awarded the Audi A4 with its "Golden Steering Wheel".

The awards recognize Audi’s successful efforts to build a mid-size luxury sedans that set benchmarks for quality, engineering and design.

"The current generation of the Audi A4 has set trends in the premium segment of mid-size cars," said Dr. Jochem Heizmann, member of the board for production at Audi AG.

"The new Audi A4 combines decades of experience by Audi, the pioneer of Quattro and TDI and technology designed for the future. We are particularly proud of the outstanding demand in Germany and abroad," said Dr. Heizmann. "With more than 1,320 of the Audi A4 built per day, we are currently producing at our capacity limits."

The Audi A4 is available in the Philippines through exclusive distributor Auto Prominence Corporation.

The new Audi A4 body merges modern automobile architecture with a discrete sporty character and cutting edge aerodynamic properties highlighted by a 0.28 coefficient of drag. Taking cues from current Audi styling, the Audi A4 features a streamlined body, clear glass headlights and the Audi radiator grille.

The Audi A4 interior combines great ergonomics and elegance. Head, shoulder, and knee room ranks among the top-in-class. Trunk luggage space capacity, at 445 liters, provides room for more than one golf bag.

All variants available in the country feature a fully galvanized, load-bearing body, welded to the floor pan with 12-year warranty against rust.

The Audi A4 also comes with Audi’s lightweight aluminum suspension featuring the revolutionary four-link front suspension and trapezoidal-link rear suspension. This pioneering suspension system plus low unsprung weight provide the basis for precise steering and exact handling that complement first class ride comfort.

The A4 also comes with Audi’s Multitronic and Quattro systems. The A4 is the only one in its class with the latest Continuous Variable Transmission System which assures you of perfectly smooth gearshifting at all times.

The Audi Quattro uses sensors to "intelligently" distribute engine power to the wheel or wheels with the best grip. In extreme driving conditions (sharp cornering, abrupt engine braking, loose surfaces, rapid-standing-start acceleration), the Quattro provides significantly higher traction than a rear wheel drive vehicle.

Equipped with front and rear disc brakes, the A4’s ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) allows steering while under braking and shorter stopping distance in panic braking situations.

Standard in the Audi A4s is Audi’s head curtain airbag system the covers the entire side window area providing protection for both front and rear occupants.
